Oak Mountain edges Vestavia Hills

The Oak Mountain High School boys’ soccer team defeated Vestavia Hills 3-2 following a round of penalty kicks in high school soccer action March 6.
Brandt Mace scored the Eagles’ first goal after receiving a perfect through pass from Mills Sproull, who assisted on the goal.
Vestavia Hills scored two goals to take a 2-1 lead before Tyler Aderholt scored a goal off a ball deflected toward him by a Rebels’ defender with 24 seconds remaining in the match.
The match ended in a 2-2 tie after regulation and two five-minute overtime sessions.
Sproull, David Depriest, Ryan Hennesey and McKenzie Prosh scored a goal each in the penalty-kick session, which lifted the Eagles to victory.
