Hornets edge Lions in rivalry game

The Chelsea High School softball team defeated Briarwood Christian 3-2 in a rivalry game March 13.

Amanda Mock led the Hornets at the plate as she went 1-for-2 and drove in a pair of runs.

Caitlyn Bice finished 1-for-3 at the plate with a double. JoJo Johnston went 1-for-3 at the plate with a stolen base. Jordan Gray scored two runs in the victory.

Bice earned the win in the circle after giving up one two runs, including one earned run, on four hits with eight strikeouts and two walks in a complete-game victory.

Ashlyn Boyd led the Lions at the plate as she went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and scored a run.

Natalie Kidd, who drove in one run and scored one run, went 1-for-2 at the plate. Morgan Reed finished 1-for-4 at the plate. Madison Chambers finished with one stolen base.

Morgan Reed took the loss in the circle after giving up three runs, including two earned runs, on three hits with seven strikeouts and a walk in a complete game.
