Panthers edge Vestavia Hills

The Pelham High School baseball team scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge Vestavia Hills 4-3 in the American Cancer Society tournament championship game March 15.

The Panthers (17-0) scored the game-winning run following a bases-loaded walk by the Rebels.

Tanner Jackson led the Panthers at the plate as he finished 2-for-3 and scored a run.

Fletcher Johnson, who drove in one run and scored one run, finished 1-for-3 at the plate. Robert Wilson, who drove in a run and scored two runs, finished 1-for-2 at the plate. Hunter Stovall added a single and drove in a run in the victory.

Thomas Lowery earned the win on the mound after giving up three runs on nine hits with two strikeouts in a complete-game victory.
