Lions sweep Hooper Academy in doubleheader

The Kingwood Christian School softball team swept Hooper Academy in a high school softball doubleheader March 28.

The Lions defeated Hooper Academy 6-3 in the opener.

Kaylee Morris and Caroline Clark led Kingwood Christian offensively.

Morris finished with a double and drove in two runs. Clark finished 2-for-3 at the plate and drove in three runs.

Kaylyn Ingram went the distance in the circle and gave up four hits with eight strikeouts.

Kingwood Christian defeated Hooper Academy 8-0 in the nightcap.

Madeline Lee and Ingram each homered in the victory for the Lions.

Lee finished 2-for-2 at the plate and drove in a pair of runs. Ingram drove in four runs. Katie Fowler finished with a single.

Lee earned the win after scattering two hits with nine strikeouts and two walks in five innings.
