Panthers top Thompson on golf course

The Pelham High School girls’ golf team defeated rival Thompson by 41 strokes on the golf course March 28.

The Panthers cared a team score of 150 strokes, while Thompson finished with a score of 191.

Grayson Gladden of Pelham was the low medalist with his score of 41 strokes.

Emily Raines of Pelham shot a personal best 50, while Brittany Boyd carded a 59.

Alexis Burger led Thompson with her score of 58 strokes.

Natalie Brown shot a 66, while Molly Carter finished with a round of 67.

“I was really proud of the team for a great win against our rivals,” said Pelham coach Scott Blair. “I was especially proud of Emily shooting the best score of her career. The team played with great confidence today.”
