FROM STAFF REPORTS

Sometimes a really great dog is just a little misunderstood. Meet Dixie and Miller from Shelby Humane Society. These two good-looking black lab mixes are smart, sweet and hankering for a family to be loyal to. They could easily be considered misfits for their previous behaviors — digging, chewing, jumping and escaping. But their actions are their words; they are trying to tell us they need something more.

Dixie

Dixie and Miller are looking for a home that welcomes them inside to be near their people; they both want to be close to the rest of their “pack.” They need regular exercise by either playing games in the back yard, going for a walk, a hike or a even a run. Miller and Dixie will be at their best with some basic obedience training — when they are able to show off how smart they are and how much they want to please you. They will both enjoy toys that will challenge their brains and keep them busy when you aren’t able to.

Miller

Miller is 7-months-old and about 45 pounds right now; Dixie is 1-year-old and about 65 pounds. These good-sized pups have great big hearts and a lot of puppy curiosity and joy that is sure to brighten your day, every day! If either Miller or Dixie could be the right match for you, please contact us at 669-3916 ext. 21 for more information. Or come and visit our shelter in Columbiana Tuesday-Saturday from noon-5:30 p.m. and we will help you find your match. Choose Shelby Humane Society and help save a life.
