Kendrick Howard “Dick” Ward, age 81, a resident of Chelsea, died on Friday, March 30, 2012. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Monday, April 2, 2012, at Liberty Baptist Church in Chelsea with Rev. Tim Cox officiating. Burial will follow at Liberty Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. prior to the service at Liberty Baptist Church.

Mr. Ward was a U.S. Navy veteran, long time woodcarver and a self-taught artist. He is survived by his wife, Doris Bradberry Ward; children, Michael Kendrick Ward (Iris), Cheryl Lynne Ward and Karin Ward Howard (Bob); stepson, Marty Thomas (Lynn); grandchildren, Jenifer Simcox, Jason Howard, Laura Thomas and Matthew Thomas; great-granddaughter, Cecillia Gunter; special friend, Colby Lambert; and numerous other family and friends.
