Rebels sweep Lyman Ward in doubleheader

The Coosa Valley Academy baseball team swept Lyman Ward in a high school baseball doubleheader April 3.

The Rebels defeated Lyman Ward 4-1 in the opening game.

Michael Mims led Coosa Valley offensively as he finished with one hit and drove in two runs.

Allen Logan and Cody Wood finished with one hit each and drove in one run each.

Austin Tatum earned the win on the mound after giving up just one earned run on one hit with three strikeouts and five walks in four innings.

Tyler Hickman earned the save after striking out four batters in three innings in relief.

Coosa Valley defeated Lyman Ward 16-6 in the nightcap.

Mims led the Rebels at the plate as he finished with three hits and drove in two runs in the victory.

Hickman and Garrett McMillan finished with two hits each and drove in one run each. Logan finished with one hit and drove in four runs in the win.

Steven Cryer, Hunter Winslett and Cody Wood finished with one hit each and drove in one run each. Preston Parker also recorded a hit.

Jake Carter earned the win on the mound after giving up three earned runs on one hit with eight strikeouts and three walks in four innings.
