Hornets top rival Wildcats in tennis match

The Chelsea High School girls’ tennis team defeated rival Shelby County 6-3 in high school tennis action April 11.

Kaylee Dismuke of Chelsea defeated Brandi Quick of Shelby County 9-8 (7-3) in the No. 1 singles’ match. Natalie Foster of Chelsea defeated Jessica Rasco of Shelby County 8-5 in the No. 2 singles’ match.

Shannon Reilly of Chelsea defeated Kaylyn Billingsley of Shelby County 8-2 in the No. 3 singles’ match. Kelsey Efferson of Chelsea defeated Kurston Hyatt of Shelby County 8-3 in the No. 4 singles’ match.

Natalie Lorimer of Chelsea defeated Brooke McCullough of Shelby County 8-2 in the No. 5 singles’ match. Taylor Gwinn of Shelby County defeated Molly Burchell of Chelsea 8-5 in the No. 6 singles’ match.

Rasco and Quick defeated Dismuke and Foster 9-8 (7-2) in the No. 1 doubles’ match. Reilly and Lorimer defeated Billingsley and Hyatt 8-1 in the No. 2 doubles’ match.

McCullough and Gwinn defeated Efferson and Burchell 8-4 in the No. 3 doubles’ match.
