The Briarwood Christian School girls’ soccer team advanced to the Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 5A Final Four following a 2-1 win over Fort Payne in the quarterfinals May 5.

Sara Smeltzer led the Lions with two goals, one in each half, in the quarterfinal victory.

Savannah Penny and Sarah Drew Mulvaney recorded an assist each in the win.

Briarwood Christian goalkeeper Haley Hawkins finished with 10 saves in the match.
