Jerry Charles Tharp, age 64, of Montevallo passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012 in Maplesville. He was born in Chipley, Fla. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Geraldine Tharp.

He will be missed by his many friends whom he met over the years.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Barbara Martin Tharp; sons, Kenny Frederick (Regina), Benny Frederick (Laura), Lamar Tharp (Jennifer) and adopted sons, Tommy and Andy Tharp; daughters, Becky Holland, Marie Herring (Duane) and Michele Peck; sisters, Betty Porter (Darrell), Wynell Melvin (Richard), Sara Slaughter (Bobby) and Faye Baxley (Eudon); uncle, Tommy J. Tharp; aunt, Thelma Tharp; 15 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Rockco Funeral Home Montevallo from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 18, 2012 at 10 a.m. at Rockco Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Hand and Bro. Michael Brasher officiating. Burial will follow at Tharp-Frederick Family Cemetery in Maplesville.
