Falcons release 2012 women’s soccer schedule

The University of Montevallo women’s soccer team has released its 2012 schedule, which includes 10 home matches and has the Falcons hitting the road for seven games.

The Falcons open up the season at home against Barry University on Aug. 31 at 7 p.m.

Montevallo hits the road on Sept. 2 to take on the University of West Georgia before returning home Sept. 7 at 7 p.m. to take on Auburn University in Montgomery.

After a trip to the University of West Alabama and a home match with the University of Alabama in Huntsville, the Falcons make their lone multiple-game road trip of the season. Montevallo travels to UNC-Pembroke on Sept. 15 to open up Peach Belt Conference play and then heads to Armstrong Atlantic State University of Sept. 21. Those two games will be their only back-to-back road games of the season.

Montevallo alternates home and away over their next four games on the schedule before closing the season with five out of six home games over the end of October. Montevallo’s final home game will come Oct. 27 at 5 p.m. as the Falcons host Peach Belt Conference newcomer Young Harris College.

The Falcons have a 50-33-9 all-time record against its 2012 opponents. Montevallo will be taking on two opponents for the first time, including season-opening foe Barry and season-finale opponent Young Harris.
