FROM STAFF REPORTS

University of Montevallo women’s basketball head coach Cindy Hilbrich announced  the hiring of Tiffany Morton as an assistant coach July 26.

Morton comes to Montevallo after spending the previous two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in Whitewater, Wisc.

“I am thrilled to have Tiffany join our program,” Hilbrich said. “She was a successful student-athlete at Whitewater and comes from a winning program. Her experience as a GA and as an All-American post player will be great additions to our program’s development. Tiffany will not only be a great coach on the floor, she will be a fantastic role model for our student-athletes.”

Morton served as the graduate assistant coach at UW-Whitewater from 2010-2012. While on the staff, the Warhawks had a 43-14 record and made two appearances in the NCAA Division III Tournament. Morton assisted in recruiting, academic advising and on the court coaching.

Prior to coaching at UW-Whitewater, Morton was a three-year member of the Warhawks’ basketball team. Her team advanced to the NCAA Division III Final Four in 2009 and she was named to the Final Four All-Tournament Team. She was a Second Team All-Central Region selection as a junior and as a senior, and was also named First Team All-Conference both years. She was named a Fourth Team All-American as a junior and an Honorable Mention All-American as a senior.

A native of Beloit, Wisc., Morton is a 2009 graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a Bachelor of Science in psychology with a minor in coaching. She will earn her Master’s of Science education in professional development from UW-Whitewater in August.
