Hubert “Leon” Lucas Jr., age 64, went home to be with the Lord, Monday, July 31, 2012 after a brief illness.

He served in the Army for six-and-a-half years with a tour in Vietnam. Leon was employed at Alabama Power E.C. Gaston Plant for 35 years.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Louise Lucas.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Jenny Lucas; sons, Kevin Lucas (Amberli) and Michael Lucas; brother, John Lucas (Linda); grandchild, Lexi; and nieces and one nephew. He leaves behind a number of friends and family.

Visitation will be held Thursday, August 2, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Rockco Funeral Home Montevallo. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 3, 2012 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Greg Sellers officiating. Interment will follow at Alabama National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New Beacon Hospice, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association and/or Wilton Baptist Church future building fund.
