Westover roads closed for repairs

WESTOVER – Two roadways in Westover will be temporarily closed Aug. 21-22 while repairs are made to the railroad crossings.

The repairs are expected to be completed the same day if the weather permits and both roadways should be re-opened for normal traffic, according to a release from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department.

Shelby County 450 will be closed on Tuesday, Aug. 21 beginning at 8 a.m., while the railroad crossing between U.S. 280 and Limerock Road is repaired. Local traffic should detour using U.S. 280 to Shelby County 55 as instructed, the release stated.

Shelby County 55 will be closed on Wednesday, Aug 22 beginning at 8 a.m., while the railroad crossing between U.S. 280 and Weatherton Road is repaired. Local traffic should detour using U.S. 280 to Shelby County 51 or Shelby County 51 to U.S. 280 as instructed, the release stated.

Detour signs will be placed at the appropriate intersections. Drivers in the area are encouraged to drive cautiously while these repairs are completed.
