The Alabaster Police Department is investigating an Aug. 13 armed robbery at the Cannon Kwik Stop on U.S. 31.
The robbery happened when a black male with his face covered entered the convenience store, displayed a handgun and demanded money from the store’s clerk, who was in a closed-in safe area of the store, said Alabaster Deputy Police Chief Curtis Rigney.
After demanding money, the suspect left the store on foot without stealing anything, Rigney said.
After police responded to the robbery call, officers reviewed surveillance camera footage, and are working to track down the suspect, Rigney said.
“We reviewed some video from the store, and we are investigating a couple of leads on a suspect,” Rigney said.
As of Aug. 27, no arrests had been made in the case.
