KANSAS CITY, Kansas – The University of Montevallo women’s soccer team has entered the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s NCAA Division II Southeast Region poll after getting off to its best start in program history.

The Falcons are ranked No. 10 in the second poll of the season.

Following a 2-1 win in the season opener against Barry University and a 3-2 win on the road at West Georgia, the Falcons were ranked No. 6 in the season-opening poll released in early September. Montevallo were ranked No. 10 in the latest poll released Sept. 11 after a 1-1 tie with Auburn University-Montgomery and a 2-1 win on the road at West Alabama.

The Falcons’ 3-0-1 start to the season marks the first time a team has opened the year with four consecutive matches without a loss. The start surpassed the 2001 team, which opened the season 2-0 before suffering its first loss.

Montevallo returns to action tonight with a home match against former Gulf South Conference rival UAH at Varsity Field at 5 p.m.
