Kingwood splits volleyball games

SELMA-The Kingwood Christian School (20-6) volleyball team had a record of 1-1 versus Southern Academy and Morgan Academy on Monday, Sept. 14.
In the first game, the Lions defeated Southern 2-1 (22-25, 25-22, 20-18). Madelyn Pearce led the Lions with four kills and four aces. Katie Allen Etheridge contributed eight kills, an ace and a block. Sloane Pickett chipped in four kills and three aces while Hannah Spinks added four digs and two kills. Blair Holsombeck paced the Lions with 14 assists, two aces and two digs
Kingwood then fell to Morgan 2-0 (24-26, 15-25) in the second game of the night. Casey Whitmer led the Lions with five kill and three blocks. Holsombeck had nine assists and two digs. Etheridge had five kills and two aces. Pearce added four kills and an ace.
