Spain Park hosts Dig In the Park tourney

NORTH SHELBY – Five Shelby County volleyball teams will converge on Spain Park High School to compete in the Dr. Lisa G. Wilson, DMD Dig In the Park Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 6.

Oak Mountain, Thompson, Chelsea and Pelham will join host Spain Park in the four-pool tournament.

The top-2 teams from each pool will advance to the gold championship bracket that begins at 2 p.m. in the Spain Park main gym. The third and fourth place finishers after pool play will compete in the silver bracket in the upstairs gym. Pool-play action begins at 8 a.m. on Saturday morning.

8 a.m. – Chelsea vs Lee-Huntsville (Pool B)

9 a.m. – Oak Mountain vs Curry (Pool A)
Mountain Brook vs Thompson (Pool B)
Vestavia vs Pelham (Pool C)
Sparkman vs Spain Park (Pool D)

10 a.m. – Thompson vs Lee-Huntsville (Pool B)
Pelham vs Fairhope (Pool C)
Spain Park vs Hueytown (Pool D)

11 a.m. – Oak Mountain vs Prattville (Pool A)
Mountain Brook vs Chelsea (Pool B)

12 p.m. – Homewood vs Oak Mountain (Pool A)

1 p.m. – Thompson vs Chelsea (Pool B)
Pelham vs Ramsay (Pool C)
Spain Park vs McArdory (Pool D)

* Pool A and B games will be played in the upstairs gym at Spain Park High School and Pool C and D games will be played in the main gym.
