TRUSSVILLE – A Montevallo man passed away in a single-car accident on Interstate 59 in Trussville Oct. 14.

Arnoldo Andrade-Gonzalez, 40, was driving a 1997 Chevrolet Tahoe in the southbound lane with five passengers in the vehicle. The five passengers were transported to the hospital, but sustained only minor injuries, according to Trussville Police Lt. Jeff Bridges.

“It appears to be a blowout,” Bridges said. “Everyone was buckled in right, and it looks like they’re going to be all right.”

The wreck occurred about 3:30 p.m. near exit 141 when the vehicle “flipped over two-and-a-half times and landed in the northbound lane,” Bridges said. “Everyone went to the hospital. It was for minor stuff except for the driver.”
