Man arrested, charged for Burger King robbery

CHELSEA – Shelby County Sheriff’s deputies responded to an armed robbery at the Chelsea Burger King at 11 p.m. Oct. 8.

Upon arrival, deputies were informed that a masked robber armed with a shotgun met store employees as they were taking the trash out and ordered them back inside. The suspect then ordered all of the employees to the ground and removed an undisclosed amount of money from the safe before leaving. No one was physically injured and the suspect left prior to deputies arriving, stated a press release from the Sheriff’s Office.

On Oct. 22, Shelby County Sheriff’s investigators executed two warrants for arrest on Kenneth Rodriguez Walthall, 25, a Burger King employee from Childersburg. Investigators charged Walthall with robbery first degree and theft of property second degree in the Burger King robbery. Walthall is currently in the Shelby County Jail with bonds of $60,000 and $15,000, respectively, according to the release
