The Shelby County Board of Education held a board meeting Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. at the central office in Columbiana.

The following board members were present: Dr. Lee Doebler, Peg Hill, Jane Hampton and Aubrey Miller. Steve Martin was absent.

The board took the following actions:

Approve the board meeting agenda and addendum as presented.

Approve the Sept. 20, 2012 minutes as presented.

Approve payroll and monthly expenditures for the month of September as presented.

Approve out-of-state field trips as presented.

Approve the nomination of Randy Davis for AASB District 5 Director as presented.

Approve at-risk grants as presented.

Approve the various personnel actions as presented.

Approve Dr. Lewis Brooks as the assistant superintendent of administration.

Approve change orders for the CHHS Field House and CAIS.

Approve the Local Schools’ Continuous Improvement Plans as presented.

The next scheduled board meeting will be on Thursday, Nov. 15, 2011, at 6 p.m. at the central office in Columbiana. A work session will begin at 2:00 p.m.
