Jaguars move up to No. 8 in ASWA poll

The Spain Park Jaguars moved up one spot to No. 8 in Class 6A poll voted by the Alabama Sports Writers Association released on Oct. 24.
The Jaguars (7-1, 6-0 in Region 4) was ranked No. 5 in the state in the ASWA preseason poll, but fell out of the top-10 after their season opening loss to Austin, who is ranked No. 10 in this week’s poll.
The sports writers brought the Jaguars back into the top-10 at No. 8 after their 34-13 win over Oak Mountain in Week 7.
Calera is the only other Shelby County team to receive votes in the poll. The Eagles picked up nine votes in Class 4A.
