Vincent Elementary to host Parenting Night Oct. 25
FROM STAFF REPORTS
VINCENT – Vincent Elementary is hosting a Parenting Night at 6 p.m. Oct. 25 at the school.
Kevin McMahon, the author of “That’s the Ticket,” a game that allows kids and parents to set unique goals for their family, will be presenting to attendees. McMahon travels around the country working with families at military bases, conferences and major colleges and universities. He uses humor and role-playing to teach his game, fourth grade teacher Ashley Waldrop wrote in an email.
Every family who attends will receive a free copy of “That’s the Ticket.” Family members of all ages have been encouraged to attend, according to Waldrop.
“Setting goals goes along with the 7 Habits, which Vincent Elementary implemented about four years ago. We were the first school in Shelby County to take on the now popular 7 Habits (from “The Leader in Me” by Stephen Covey) and have seen great improvements in our school,” Waldrop wrote.
