Kingwood Christian falls to Restoration

ALABASTER – The Kingwood Christian Lions fell behind early and were unable to capitalize on opportunities in a 46-12 loss to the Restoration Academy Bulldogs on Oct. 26.
“They are a good team and they won their region for a reason,” said Kingwood head coach Bob Spurgeon on Restoration Academy.
Restoration rushed for 364 yards and six touchdowns in the win.
Trailing 34-0 in the third quarter, Lions’ quarterback Tyler Harrell took a pitch from Titus Adams on a trick play and found Montez Hayes for a 45-yard touchdown for a 34-6 score.
Adams scored the second Kingwood touchdown of the game on a 49-yard touchdown run to cut the deficit to 40-12.
Restoration added a score in the fourth quarter to seal up the 46-12 victory.
Adams led the Lions with 55 yards rushing with a score while Hayes had 79 yards on five receptions and a touchdown.
