Calera’s season ends at super regionals

MONTGOMERY – The Calera Lady Eagles volleyball team had their season come to an end with a 19-25, 12-25, 25-19, 15-25 loss to Alabama Christian in the second round of the Class 4A Super Regional Tournament in Montgomery on Oct. 27.

A’Kia Harris led the Lady Eagles (30-10) with 14 kills in the loss. Kayanna Gayden had seven kills and seven blocks while Elizabeth Rhinehart added 16 digs to lead her team. Hannah Marling finished with four aces and eight digs.

Calera began the tournament with a 25-19, 25-15, 25-13 sweep of Ashford.

Harris had eight kills in the Lady Eagles’ victory with Caitlin Ryan adding six kills. Rhinehart finished with four digs and an ace.
