Gloria Jean Nivens, age 65, of Calera, passed away on Oct. 28, 2012. Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Oct. 30 at First Baptist Church, Columbiana, with Rev. Mike Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Gardens. Visitation will be Oct. 30 from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Mrs. Nivens is preceded in death by her parents, Denmon “Dan” F. and Willie Mae Bentley Akers. Gloria is survived by her husband, Kerry Nivens; children, Shea Hill (Jim) and Shannon Nivens (Kimberly); grandchildren, Annah Reese, Beth Ann and Jack Nivens, Cathryn, Jake and Sarah Shea Hill; sister, Ann Rasco (William); brother, Danny Akers (Kathy); and other family and friends.
