FROM STAFF REPORTS

Local area figure skaters are preparing for the Pelham Skate School’s production of “Enchanted Moments: Stories Told on Ice.” This year’s show features skaters representing the Pelham Skate School’s Learn to Skate program and the Birmingham Figure Skating Club.

Well-known fairy tale characters from Cinderella to Shrek will glide across the ice, skating to Disney and Pixar soundtracks spanning 75 years. With unique props, costuming and lighting, Pelham Skate School director Danny Tate said he hopes to blend the artistry and athleticism of figure skating while representing these iconic stories.

“Enchanted Moments: Stories Told on Ice” performances are Saturday, Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. and Sunday Dec. 2 at 3 p.m. at the Pelham Civic Complex. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Ticket prices are $10 for those 10 and older, children ages 4-9 are $7 and kids 3 years and younger are free.
