The Evangel Christian Lightning dropped their Alabama Christian Sports Conference opener 36-33 to East Central Nov. 27.

East Central held the Lightning (1-1, 0-1) to 21 percent shooting to take the victory.

Judson Motes led Evangel with nine points while Doug Battle added eight points and eight rebounds.

Casey Gamble led all scorers with 16 points for East Central.
