Robert L. Kirkland, age 71, passed away on Dec. 26, 2012, at his home in Alabaster. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Dec. 29, 2012, at Bolton Funeral Home in Columbiana. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Dec. 28 at the funeral home.

Mr. Kirkland, a lifelong resident and business owner in Shelby County, owned and operated the Kirkland Wrecker Service for 45 years and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Alabaster. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Janet Bradley Kirkland; son, Scott Kirkland (Julie); daughter, Debbie Kirkland Becker (Tom); grandchildren, Wade Kirkland, Lexie Kirkland, Jordan Stevenson and Brandon Stevenson. He was a loving husband, father and papa.
