The Thompson Warriors wrestling team finished seventh in bracket competition at The Clash XL wrestling tournament in Rochester, Minn. Dec. 28.

The Warriors fell to Simley (MN) 48-21 and Rapid City Central (SD) 40-28 to compete in the seventh place match against Burnsville (MN). Thompson defeated Burnsville 49-22 to claim seventh place in Bracket B.

Brewer Gilliland led the Warriors with three pins. Reed Jacks had two pins with a decision win. Kolby Newton, TJ Rayam and Demario Haynes each had two pins. Riley Pike and Austin Gould each had a pin and a decision win.

Thompson followed with a fourth place finish in the seventh bracket on day two of the tournament. The Warriors fell to Pierre (SD) 51-15, Corona Del Sol (AZ) 48-27 and Rochester Mayo (MN) 40-37 in the round robin bracket.
