Thompson shuts down Pelham

PELHAM – The Thompson Lady Warriors held the Pelham Lady Panthers to just six total field goals to claim a 64-16 road win Jan. 29.

The Lady Warriors (18-8) jumped out to a 17-5 lead in the first and held Pelham to just one field goal in the second for a 33-9 lead at the half.

Thompson started the second half on a 16-0 run to take a 53-14 advantage into the fourth.

The Lady Warriors scored 11 unanswered points in the fourth before Pelham’s Meagan Ledbetter scored the Lady Panthers’ lone basket of the quarter.

Katie Guiser led all scorers with 11 points for Thompson. Janese Richardson added nine points while Kat Cingaranelli added eight points.

Akievia McFarland and Zarria Morgan each led Pelham with four points each.
