Perfection.
That is the only word to describe the 2012 season for the Hoover High School football team.
The Buccaneers wrapped up a 15-0 season with a dominating 31-0 victory over Opelika in the 2012 Alabama High School Athletic Association Class 6A state championship game on Dec. 7.
The Bucs started the 2012 season with their eyes on the title while looking to forget the memories of their past to trips to the state finals. Memories of two consecutive one-point losses in the finals lingered and the 2012 edition of the Bucs wanted to leave those far behind.
“We came out super hungry in the off-season in January,” said senior linebacker Landry Tullo. “We came out January 1 feeling like we had so much on our back. We just wanted to be greater than any team that ever came through here.”
