Falcons finish fourth in Ann Rhodes Invitational

BIRMINGHAM – The University of Montevallo women’s golf team finished fourth in team standings at the Ann Rhodes Invitational tournament Feb. 17-18 at the Robert Trent Jones course at Oxmoor Valley.

The Falcons collectively carded a score 91-over par 667. Tournament winner Indiana State University finished with a score of 56-over par 632. Montevallo edged tournament host Birmingham-Southern College by eight strokes to secure fourth place in team standings.

Freshman Morgan Natale led the Falcons as she carded a tournament total 16-over par 160. Natale finished with a 5-over par 77 in the final round, which helped her finish in a tie for sixth place in individual standings.

Sophomore Ashlee Beck fired a 23-over par 167, which placed her in a tie for 17th overall in individual standings. Junior Kira Chaudhry finished with a 25-over par 169, which placed her 21st overall in individual standings.

Junior Hilary Shaner finished in a tie for 23rd overall in individual standings after carding a 27-over par 171 in the two-day tournament.

Senior Kayla Witt rounded out the group of Montevallo golfers after carding a 41-over par 185, which placed her 35th overall in individual standings.

The Falcons return to action Feb. 25-26 at the Lady Cougar Collegiate Classic tournament hosted by Columbus State University at Columbus Country Club in Columbus, Ga.
