The Alabama Department of Transportation has scheduled lane closures on Interstate 65 between Alabaster and Pelham over the next few weeks to allow for pothole patching.

The lane closures began on Thursday, March 7, and will continue through Friday, March 22, according to ALDOT.

ALDOT crews will be patching from just south of Alabaster’s exit 238 to just south of the tank farm exit in Pelham.

Each day the patching work is being conducted, the affected lanes will be closed starting at 9:30 a.m., and will reopen before 1 p.m., according to ALDOT.

The lane closures will be held March 7-8, March 11-15 and March 18-22.

During the two-week project, crews will start by closing and patching the left northbound lane and shoulder, and will then close and patch the left southbound lane.

After the left northbound and southbound lanes are patched, ALDOT will close and patch the northbound right lane before closing and patching the southbound right lane.
