Oak Mountain avoids doubleheader sweep

The Oak Mountain Eagles rallied in the eight inning for a 7-5 victory in the first game of a road doubleheader at Hillcrest March 7.
Oak Mountain (6-5) led 3-0 after three and a half innings before Hillcrest scored tied the game in the bottom of the fourth.
The Eagles took the lead in the top of the eighth when Corey Price and Pierce Clark doubled to give Oak Mountain the 7-5 victory.
Wesley Nail pitched four and two-thirds innings in the win while allowing two runs on five hits with eight strikeouts.
Price led Eagle hitters batting 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored. Clarke finished 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs.
The Eagles dropped the second game of the doubleheader 5-0.
Justin Hoyt took the loss pitching two innings and allowing two earned runs on three hits with four strikeouts. Barrett Gossett, Heath Quinn and Clarke had the only hits for Oak Mountain.
