Investigators determining if body found is that of missing teen
FROM STAFF REPORTS
Investigators from the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office and from Talladega County are working to determine if a body found in Talladega County is that of a Highland Lakes teen.
Cameron Gardner McGlothan, 19, has been missing since March 5. He was reported missing March 7, and was last seen by his mother at the family home at approximately 10 p.m. on March 5.
On March 12, Talladega County authorities notified the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office that a deceased male had been discovered along the side of a county road. Until official identification is made on the body, investigators will continue to follow all leads in the McGlothan case, according to a sheriff’s office press release.
McGlothan is a 5-foot-6 black male weighing approximately 140 pounds. He was last seen wearing a blue plaid shirt and jeans, according to a sheriff’s office press release.
Investigators believe he left his home by choice and was likely picked up by a friend. Anyone with information about McGlothan or his whereabouts is urged to contact the sheriff’s office at 669-4181, through the Secret Witness line at 669-9116 or through ShelbySO.com by clicking on the “Report Criminal Activity” link and choosing the “General Information” category.
