The Thompson Lady Warriors softball team held off a late Spain Park Lady Jags’ rally to take a 6-2 non-area victory March 14.

Thompson (10-4) took an early 1-0 lead before exploding for four runs in the fourth to take a 5-0 lead. The Lady Warriors added a run in the sixth for a 6-0 lead.

Spain Park (13-8) scored two runs in the seventh, but Thompson was able to quiet the rally to claim the win.

Haley Crumpton pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run on seven hits in the Thompson victory. Mary Kathryn Bonamy took the loss for Spain Park allowing two earned runs on six hits with two strikeouts and two walks.

Crumpton led Thompson at the plate batting 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs. Katie Adams scored two runs while batting 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Brittany Anderson led Spain Park batting 2-for-2 with two RBIs and a double. Marley Barnes added a 2-for-3 effort with a run.
