Falcons fourth after first round of Panther Invitational

PALM BAY, Fla. – The University of Montevallo men’s golf team is currently fourth after the first round of the Panther Invitational tournament March 18 at The Majors Golf Club.

The Falcons, who collectively carded a team score of 306 strokes in the opening round, currently sit 15 strokes behind tournament leader West Georgia in the event hosted by Florida Tech.

Freshman Dalton Skinner is currently tied for first overall in individual standings after carding a 2-under par 70 in the opening round.

Junior Conner Godsey carded a 2-over par 74 in the first round and currently sits in a tie for seventh overall in individual standings. Freshman Juan Noce, who is currently 22nd overall in individual standings, shot a 7-over par 79 in the first round.

Senior Andrew Lowry shot a 11-over par 83 in the first round and currently sits in a tie for 31st overall in individual standings. Fellow senior Austin Murphey is currently tied for 35th overall in individual standings after carding a 12-over par 84 in the opening round.

The Falcons return to action Tuesday, March 19 in the final two rounds of the tournament in Palm Bay, Fla. The second round was suspended March 18 due to darkness.
