Hoover sweeps by Briarwood in doubleheader

The Hoover Buccaneers swept Briarwood Christian Lions in a doubleheader at BCS March 21.
The Lions (10-8) were held to three hits in a 7-0 game-one loss. Cameron Adams took the loss for Briarwood allowing six runs on eight hits in five and a third innings of work.
Daniel Robert led the Lions with a 1-for-3 effort from the plate with a double and a walk. Brooks Haley went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs for Hoover.
Hoover scored six runs in the first three innings to take a 9-4 game-two victory over Briarwood.
Barnes Bankston threw three innings and allowed four earned runs on 10 hits with three strikeouts in the loss for the Lions.
Tanner Cunningham led Briarwood with a 3-for-4 effort with a double, RBI and two runs scored. Ethan Simmons added a 1-for-2 performance with a team-high two RBIs.
