HOOVER — The Alabama Department of Revenue will offer a New Business Workshop to answer tax questions from new business owners on April 18.

The workshop will be held at 3 p.m. and again at 6 p.m. that day at the Jefferson/Shelby Taxpayer Service Center, located at 2020 Valleydale Road.

The free workshop will cover a variety of state tax information topics, including employer withholding taxes, state and local sales taxes, property taxes, business licensing requirements, and Alabama’s child labor law, according to a press release.

An overview of Alabama’s business tax electronic filing programs will also be presented.
