Montevallo’s Destiny Upton drove home the winning run in an 8-7 victory in eight innings over Calera March 28.

Calera held a 7-4 lead after six innings, but Montevallo’s Megan Dockery hit a 3-run home run in the seventh to send the game into an extra inning.

The Lady Dogs put two runners on with two outs when Upton hit a single to deep centerfield to plate Savannah Upton for the 8-7 walk-off win.

Destiny Upton picked up the win pitching all eight innings for Montevallo allowing seven runs on 14 hits with nine strikeouts and three walks.

Somer Roberson took the loss for Calera allowing six runs on nine hits with six strikeouts and three walks.

Dockery led the Lady Dogs batting 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs.

Charley Clark led Calera batting 3-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs.
