The Pelham Panthers softball team began the Bob Jones tournament with a pair of victories over Hazel Green and Sumiton Christian April 5.

Pelham (23-2) defeated Hazel Green 8-4 led by Kristian Foster. Foster went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs. Madi Walker added a 2-for-3 performance with two RBIs.

Emily Spain pitched two innings in the win and Whitney Gillespie went three innings in the save.

Caitlyn Sapp led Pelham to a 7-2 victory over Sumiton Chrisitan. Sapp hit a home run while batting 1-for-2 with two RBIs. Rebekah Fox pitched five innings in the win and allowed one earned run on five hits with six strikeouts.
