The Briarwood Christian boys’ tennis team swept Homewood in each of the final nine matches to take the Class 5A, Section 3 championship April 15.

Briarwood’s Griffin Oats defeated David Cox of Homewood 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 1 singles match while the No. 1 doubles team of Connor Brewton and Lukas Castellanos defeated Carter/Wooley of Homwood 6-4, 6-2.

The Lions finished with a team total of 42 points. Homewoood scored 21 points.
