Margie Lee Benton, age 74 of Maylene, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at her home.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Adrian Benton; parents, William and Annie Boothe; brother, William “Buddy” Boothe; and sisters, Martha Cables and Ruby Teal.

Margie is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Dobbs (David) of Maylene, Shelia Owens (Marvin) of Birmingham and Barbara Majors (Wayne) of Jemison; sons, Kelvin Benton (Mary Ann) of Montevallo and Phillip Benton (Vickie) of Maylene; sisters, Margaret Boothe (Eugene) of Maylene and Donna Livingston (David) of Gulf Shores; brother, Marty Boothe (Donna) of Childersburg; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was held April 28 from 6-8 p.m. at New Hope Church of God. Funeral services were held on April 29 at 11 a.m. at the church with Bro. James Sturdivant officiating. Burial followed at Ryans Cemetery.
