The Pelham-based Cahaba Valley Elks Lodge will honor America on Sunday, June 9, while giving attendees a lesson on the history of the American flag.

During the free Flag Day ceremony, which will begin at 3 p.m. in the Complex’s banquet side, Elks Lodge members will present a parade of America’s historical flags covering everything from the Pine Tree flag to The Star-Spangled Banner.

The event, which is sponsored by the Elks Lodge and the city of Pelham, also will include musical entertainment by the Crimson Pride Chorus and a flag retirement ceremony by Boy Scout troops 5 and 404 in the venue’s parking lot.

The Cahaba Valley Elks Lodge holds the Flag Day ceremony every year at the Civic Complex to honor the nation’s history while involving the community, Elks Lodge member Liz Bishop said previously.
