After three rounds, yet another player found himself atop the leaderboard at the Regions Tradition June 8 at Shoal Creek.
David Frost shot a 66 to move to 12 under overall headed into the clubhouse. He leads Fred Couples by one stroke.
“I made a lot of good shots out there today,” he said. “I made one unfortunate bogey, but it’s a tough golf course so I’m not too disappointed with that round.”
Frost is in search of his fifth Champions Tour win, and second of the year. He won the Toshiba Classic in March.
Frost said he felt confident headed into the final round.
“Getting into position like this makes you become a little more at ease the more you get there,” he said. “My game’s been good this year, so I’m excited about tomorrow.”
Couples shot an impressive 68, but remained in the second spot for the second day in a row.
“Tomorrow I’m going to have to hit more fairways and play a little bit better from tee to green,” he said. “But today when I did hit a good shot, it was a really good one and made birdies.”
The Tradition heads into the final round June 9, which has seen the tee time moved up to 7:30 a.m. due to the threat of inclement weather.
