Locals will have a chance to pick up a range of books and DVDs for no more than $1 apiece during the Pelham Public Library’s upcoming fall book sale.
The sale will begin at the library on Aug. 26, and will run through the end of September. Donations from the Pelham community make the quarterly library book sales possible, and all proceeds from the event help fund purchases of library materials and help provide programs such as children’s crafts and story times.
Prices are $1 each for hardback books and DVDs, and are 50 cents each for children’s and paperback books and VHS tapes.
“At the library we get really excited about these book sales. Of course, the fundraiser helps the library, but sometimes it’s just fun to see what used gems people will dig up,” Pelham Library Director Barbara Roberts wrote in a release. “There really is no telling what you’ll find.”
The most recent book sale, which was held in May, raised $120 to benefit the library, according to sale organizer Allison Moore.
