Bessie Reynolds, born Aug. 10, 1929, one of God’s most humble and virtuous women, was peacefully relieved of the struggles of this world and welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven on Aug. 12, 2013. She was surrounded by loved ones as she quietly left her earthly home and joined with the angels of beloved ones in her eternal home. The legacy she leaves is one of honor, love and righteousness as she led a faithful life worthy of praise. Her purity of spirit and her capacity to love was unending and her compassion had no bounds. She was a devoted, faithful wife and together with her adoring husband of nearly 65 years, she created a heritage of four children, whom she nurtured, loved and encouraged all the days of her life. Hers was a soul of virtue and conviction – built on and upheld by her faith in God and she radiated and shared blessed hope. He is indeed proud of his good and faithful servant.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Donald C. Reynolds; children, Donnie Sue Spears (Steve), Thomas Reynolds (Diane), Jan Young (Geoff) and Jill Denning (Robert); also left to honor and cherish her memory are grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a sister, brothers, nieces, nephews, cousins and countless loved ones.

She was preceded in death by her dearly-loved parents, Robert and Nettie Christmas.

Services will be held on Aug. 15 at 3 p.m. at Enon Baptist Church in Montevallo and officiated by Brother Bill Trawick. Visitation will be from 2-3 p.m. with the funeral immediately following.
