“My daughter Cadynce is my life, so it only makes sense for me to own a place where kids can come and have fun with their parents. Everyone’s happy,” said Stanley’s Shaved Ice owner Chris Stanley.

Stanley he has always been a multi-tasker, so an hourly wage did not suit him. Having always wanted his own place and because he is a “big kid and jokester,” Stanley has big dreams.

To be the “go-to guy” this fall for local events (school classes, church, families) Stanley plans to serve hot dogs, nachos, coffee, hot chocolate or of course shaved ice for groups and individuals to watch football or cartoons on his big 55” television.

Also available is foosball, ping pong, air hockey, mini inflatable bouncers and plenty of sturdy picnic tables at the business located on Alabama 119 South in Elliottsville Plaza. With a bright blue interior, the calming effect just lets one relax and chill with an iced treat.

The nearly 70 gourmet flavors are specially made by Stanley to insure a quality product with plenty of flavor.

“It costs a little more but it is worth it,” Stanley said.

Open since April 6 of this year, Stanley’s Shaved Ice started with a bang of a grand opening. “Face painting and bounce houses had them lined up out the door”, said Stanley.

One can enjoy their shaved ice inside the air-conditioned blue rooms or get a little Vitamin D outside.

Stanley will bring his business to you for a party or family get-together or you may prefer rental by the hour at his location.

Raised in Birmingham and educated at Oak Mountain High, Chris Stanley credits hard work and his hilarious dad, Frank Stanley, and retired teacher mom, Christy, for his perseverance.

A bit of an adrenaline junky, Stanley has to exercise or work out every day to be able to sleep.

“I love to laugh because laughter is necessary” is my personal creed said Stanley.
